Nesta 3ª sessão, como pretexto para o debate sobre o papel do cinema com instrumento de intervenção social, somos guiados numa leitura comentada sobre o filme ‘A Onda’, do realizador Dennis Gansel. &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;* João Wanderley Geraldi - um apaixonado do cinema, linguista e comunicador por excelência - é Professor Titular aposentado do Departamento de Linguística da Unicamp. &lt;strong&gt;sobre Amílcar Cabral e Paulo Freire: "Para uma Releitura do Mundo, da Pedagogia e da Comunicação no Novo Milénio"&lt;/strong&gt;, organizada por Fátima Alves e Nardi Sousa, docentes da Universidade de Santiago. Este seminário contou com a participação de diferentes instituições do Ensino Superior de Cabo Verde e também do Instituto Paulo Freire de Portugal.&lt;br /&gt;Dado o grande interesse que teve o evento, junta-se o Enquadramento que os organizadores elaboraram, bem como o programa desenvolvido.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;"&lt;strong&gt;Enquadramento&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Na actual configuração histórica mundial, o acesso ao conhecimento e aos paradigmas de gestão societária são inquestionáveis ferramentas emancipatórias de indivíduos e povos. Em Cabo Verde, esses pré-requisitos da segurança individual e do estar no mundo comunal funcionam também como importante base para a plena assunção dos desafios de um desenvolvimento que se quer sustentável, com justiça, democracia, solidariedade, liberdade e inclusão social.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Assim, visando resgatar processos e rediscutir actores sociais e políticos que contribuíram para a construção do sonho da &lt;em&gt;Solidariedade, Justiça e Direitos Humanos&lt;/em&gt;, a Universidade de Santiago instituiu a &lt;strong&gt;Conferência Anual sobre Amílcar Cabral e Paulo Freire&lt;/strong&gt;, destacados activistas, cientistas e ideólogos da luta pela libertação e pela dignificação da pessoa humana.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Esta iniciativa inscreve-se nos programas de pesquisa e extensão da US, representa um dos mais importantes passos rumo à criação de uma rede transnacional e plural de reflexões e debates sobre esses dois ícones do século passado: (i) Amílcar Um grande abraço, Moacir Gadotti"&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_of04lw_Jjk0/SvxD2kLo_ZI/AAAAAAAAAGc/3BvPj6IdgdI/s1600-h/Anistiar_PFreire.png"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;p align="left"&gt;&lt;a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_of04lw_Jjk0/SvxEJGJygoI/AAAAAAAAAGk/LcdWQAJIg8M/s1600-h/Anistiar_PFreire.png"&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:85%;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;SIGNIFICADO DA ANISTIA A PAULO FREIRE&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;       Depois de 12 anos de sua morte, o Ministério da Justiça, por meio de sua Comissão de Anistia e de acordo com a Lei da Anistia, que permitiu a volta dos exilados, vai proceder ao julgamento político de Paulo Freire, no contexto do Fórum Mundial de Educação Profissional e Tecnológica, que terá lugar em Brasília, de 23 a 27 de novembro próximo.&lt;br /&gt;       Paulo Freire foi um dos primeiros cidadãos brasileiros a ser punido pelo regime autoritário. Seu Programa Nacional de Alfabetização, que mal havia sido instituído, por meio do Decreto nº 53.465, de 21 de janeiro de 1964 e que consagrava o “Sistema Paulo Freire para alfabetização em tempo rápido”, foi extinto pelo novo regime, logo após o golpe de estado de 1 de abril de 1964. Ranieri Mazzilli, presidente em exercício nos primeiros dias que se sucederam ao Golpe Militar, extinguiu esse programa, por meio do Decreto nº 53.886, de 14 de abril de 1964, considerando a necessidade de “reestruturar o Planejamento para a eliminação do analfabetismo no país (...), veicular idéias nitidamente democráticas e preservar as instituições e tradições de nosso país”.&lt;br /&gt;       O Programa Nacional de Alfabetização previa a “cooperação e os serviços” de “agremiações estudantis e profissionais, associações esportivas, sociedades de bairro e municipalista, entidades religiosas, organizações governamentais, civis e militares, associações patronais, empresas privadas, órgãos de difusão, o magistério e todos os setores mobilizáveis”. Desde seus primeiros escritos e sua práxis político-pedagógica, Paulo Freire preconizava a necessidade da participação popular na luta contra o analfabetismo.&lt;br /&gt;       Paulo Freire foi preso logo em seguida, no mês de junho, e passou 75 dias preso numa cadeia do quartel de Olinda, acusado de “subversivo e ignorante”. Detalhe: na prisão, um dos oficiais responsáveis pelo quartel, sabendo que ele era professor, solicitou a Paulo Freire para alfabetizar alguns recrutas. Paulo explicou-lhe que foi exatamente porque queria alfabetizar que fora preso. Alguns de seus alunos também foram presos e passaram por outras dificuldades depois da experiência de Angicos (1963), considerada subversiva e mais tarde, cancelada.&lt;br /&gt;       Como educador que sabe que educação é direito e condição para a transformação social, queria ver seu país livre do analfabetismo, visando a um Brasil “menos malvado” e com justiça social. Sua principal obra, Pedagogia do oprimido, escrita nos primeiros anos de exílio, uma profissão de fé na necessidade do diálogo e na democracia, termina afirmando que “se não ficar destas páginas, algo, pelo menos, esperamos que permaneça: nossa confiança no povo. Nossa fé nos homens e na criação de um mundo em que seja menos difícil amar”.&lt;br /&gt;       Exilado no Chile, no mesmo ano, Paulo Freire preocupava-se com aqueles que aqui ficaram, “exilados internos”, como ele os chamava. No livro Essa escola chamada vida, escrito em parceria com Frei Betto, um depoimento ao repórter Ricardo Kotscho, ele diz que foi exatamente ficando longe do Brasil que se preocupou com ele: “me perguntei”, diz ele, “sobre o que fizeram com outros brasileiros, milhares de brasileiros da geração jovem e da minha geração”(p. 56). Essa era a mesma preocupação de sua esposa, Elza Freire, que, ao sair do Brasil teve que pedir demissão para não ser demitida por abandono de cargo, deixando para trás 21 anos de magistério e 10 como diretora de escola. Escreveu ela em setembro de 1977: “a coisa que realmente a gente sente é no outro dia quando amanheci no Chile, não ter trinta e cinco professores nem 600 alunos que era a população do meu grupo escolar. Isso eu realmente senti” (Memórias das mulheres do exílio, 1980, p. 201). Foram 16 anos de exílio.&lt;br /&gt;       Anistiar Paulo Freire hoje, 45 anos após seu exílio, nos ajudar a manter vivo seu legado, a discutir suas contribuições não só à educação, mas à causa da emancipação humana. Por mais de meio século ele pode contribuir com um dos nossos movimentos mais férteis - o da educação popular - que se constitui na maior contribuição da América Latina ao pensamento pedagógico universal. Paulo Freire dizia que “a única maneira que alguém tem de aplicar, no seu contexto, alguma das proposições que fiz, é exatamente refazer-me, quer dizer, não seguir-me. Para seguir-me, o fundamental é não me seguir” (Por uma pedagogia da pergunta, p. 41). É exatamente isso que hoje o Instituto Paulo Freire, que ele ajudou a fundar em 1991, vem fazendo: continuando e reinventando Freire.&lt;br /&gt;       Em julho de 1997, dois meses depois de sua morte, a UNESCO me chamou para prestar uma homenagem a Paulo Freire na CONFINTEA V (V Conferência Internacional sobre Educação de Adultos), realizada em Hamburgo, Alemanha. Era o reconhecimento internacional da grande contribuição do educador brasileiro com o qual tive o privilégio de conviver. Minhas palavras foram breves. Destaquei que, “como terno guerreiro das palavras, Paulo Freire criticou, atacou, a ética do mercado neoliberal, mas tinha esperança de superá-la, por uma ética humana integral. Acreditava na história como possibilidade e não como fatalidade. Um sentido muito importante das homenagens oferecidas a Paulo Freire é, de um lado, praticar estas virtudes de Freire, por outro, é dar continuidade a seu legado. Dar continuidade a Freire, não é tratá-lo como a um totem, algo que não se pode tocar, mas apenas adorar; não é tratá-lo como a um guru, que tem que ser seguido por discípulos, sem questioná-lo. Nada menos freireano que esta idéia. Paulo Freire foi, sobretudo, um criador de espíritos. Por isso, deve ser tratado como um grande educador popular. Por isso, não devemos repetir a Freire, mas “re-inventá-lo”, como ele mesmo dizia. Para esta tarefa não designou a uma ou a outra pessoa ou instituição. Esta tarefa ele a deixou a todos nós, a todas e a todos os que estão comprometidos com a causa dos oprimidos”.&lt;br /&gt;       A concessão da anistia a Paulo Freire não é somente um ato simbólico; é também um ato de reparação ao sofrimento de sua sua esposa Elza e de seus cinco filhos – Madalena, Fátima, Cristina, Joaquim e Lugardes – que, juntamente com seus pais, sofreram um grande “corte” em suas vidas, segundo expressão de Elza Freire.&lt;br /&gt;       Anistiar hoje Paulo Freire significa reconhecer a verdade. Todos precisam conhecê-la. De imediato surgem questões importantes. Onde se situam estas escolas? São públicas ou privadas? Quantos alunos se apresentaram a exame? Que critérios presidiram à elaboração das diferentes listagens apresentadas? O que mais aproxima esses dois notáveis brasileiros também não foram os inúmeros prêmios que receberam por suas atividades intelectuais nem as indicações de ambos ao nobel da paz. A semelhança maior entre Freire e Boal está na profunda convicção que os fizeram lutar incansavelmente por toda a vida: a causa dos oprimidos. Exatamente no dia em que se completaram 12 anos de falecimento de Paulo Freire (02 de maio), Augusto Boal nos deixou. Mas, a exemplo de nosso maior educador, o fundador do Teatro do Oprimido deixou-nos também um legado de esperança. Sua arte nunca foi mera alegoria da vida ou um sentido em si mesmo. Para Boal, a Estética do Oprimido é, antes de tudo, uma ferramenta de intervenção social.&lt;br /&gt;Em uma de suas últimas falas públicas, no mês de março deste ano, por ocasião da cerimônia em que foi nomeado embaixador do teatro pela Unesco, Boal afirmou que "cidadão não é aquele que vive em sociedade, mas, aquele que a transforma". Disse também que "temos a obrigação de inventar outro mundo porque sabemos que outro mundo é possível".&lt;br /&gt;Refletir sobre a biografia de Boal, mesmo num momento tão sofrido, sobretudo para as pessoas mais próximas de seu convívio, é celebrar a vida. É insistir no caminho da mudança a partir e com os mais sofridos. Boal, com certeza, é um desses homens imprescindíveis de que falava Bertolt Brecht. &lt;span style="font-family:arial;"&gt;A solução encontrada pela escola EB1 de Lagoa Negra, em Barqueiros, Barcelos, de colocar numa mesma turma alunos ciganos de diferentes idades é defendida com o argumento que esta poderá ser uma forma de conseguir que alunos com dificuldades de aprendizagem ou que abandonaram a escola voltem a frequentá-la e tenham algum sucesso.
